Thank you Inspire!Boston

Inspire!Boston 2019 was a huge success, thanks to our amazing attendees, volunteers, host committee and sponsors! 300 people joined the Kelly Brush Foundation at the Cyclorama on March 28th and raised $300,000 to make a difference in the lives of people with spinal cord injuries. Thanks to your enthusiasm and participation we raised $10,000 at the adaptive sports stations! A generous KBF supporter donated $25 every time a guest of Inspire!Boston tried a piece of adaptive sports equipment.

One highlight of the evening was the announcement that KBF grant recipient Greg Durso was joining the KBF team as a full-time employee this spring. He had a few words he wanted to share with everyone below.

Hello All,

I’d first like to thank anyone who attended Inspire Boston, it was such fun event to be a part of. It was also very different to be behind the curtain this time as new KBF employee (even though I don’t start until May!!) Woohooo. It really is a dream come true to know what I’m so passionate about now becomes my job.

It was also amazing to have the opportunity to talk to and meet everyone there as well as share my story. I don’t really get nervous speaking but this time around I had put a lot of pressure on myself. Even though everything was from the heart and easy to write, trying to represent KBF as grant recipient and now as a member of the team really took it to the next level. The organization has impacted me so much. I’ve learned that an active lifestyle participating in adaptive sports is my passion, and what fuels me and keeps me healthy and alive. KBF has given me the opportunity to succeed in the life that I want to live.

Now I get the make the move from Long Island to Burlington in the next two weeks and start this new chapter of my life. I realized how fun and inspiring it was to be involved on the other side of things, whether it was participating on the grant committee, sharing my story to newly injured SCI/KBF community or traveling to the other Inspire events to help out. So now I couldn’t be more excited to make this transition from the banking world to the KBF world.

I have so much passion and desire to pay this forward and help others get the same opportunities that I’ve had and that Kelly’s had. All your support goes beyond just donations; you’re creating a life changing experience. So thanks everyone for getting us off the sidelines, thank you for being on the mountain with us, in the woods and in our lives. So pumped for this!

-Greg
