KBF Grant Equipment: Outdoor Wheelchair

Tell us a fun fact about yourself! I can actually run a sewing machine. Even though sewing machines requires you to use a foot pedal. I just put it up next to my machine and use my hand to push on it as if its one of my foot. Then I use my other hand to guide my sewing project. Just got to get creative sometimes!

What does living an active lifestyle mean to you? Connecting my soul, mind, and the body in nature and exploring the great outdoors. It gives me the meaning of living life again. When you love life. Life loves your back.

What is something people don’t know about living in a wheelchair? All wheelchair users all have different abilities.

What has the KBF grant meant to you? You guys are a game changer to life! Being active requires adaptive equipment, which is ridiculously costly! I don’t know if I would pursue an active lifestyle if I didn’t have the KBF active grant to help.

What is the best piece of advice you have gotten? Life doesn’t have to be over or limited. You just have to do things differently and get creative!

Any tips/tricks for someone who is new to a wheelchair/adaptive sports? You are alive and got a 2nd chance in life. And it could always be worse. Tomorrow will be better!
